Biography
Born in Ghent in 1988, Hanne Schillemans is internationally active as a dancer and choreographer.
During her dance-training at the School of Fine and Performing Arts Tilburg (The Netherlands), where she graduated in 2011, Hanne became captivated by the theatrical power of the body in motion. She completed her training by attending masterclasses with amongst others Les Ballets C de la B, Batsheva Dance Company (Israël), Akram Khan, Tero Saarinen (Finland), Anouk Van Dijk, Uri Ivgi, Jan Zobel.
Hanne has worked together with Company United Cowboys, De Munt/La Monnaie, Alla Sigalova, Theater Tol, Dirk Brossé, Teatro Comunale Di Bologna, Compagnie Monica, Brussels Philharmonic, De Kwekerij, Helma Melis.
Next to her own solo-work, Hanne is also active as a choreographer for other performers. Sources of inspiration are subjects like societal problems, human behavioural patterns and possible relations of an entity to it's environment.
Hanne is fascinated by cross-over settings, where dance is connected to other artforms such as theatre, music, architecture, photography and visual arts. She is always in search of possibilities to harmonize these forms of expression and to create new surprising totalconcepts.
Since 2016 she is putting her own artistic vision out there with [SPIN][ECHO], a performance art collective which she founded together with Ralph Timmermans.
